What Is A Food Diary?
A food diary is a great way to see what a person eats, spot patterns and understand the eating behavior a bit more.
A food diary is a collection of meals recorded against a specific point in time. Foodzilla organises the food diaries in four time periods: Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Custom). Custom time periods lets you set a specific start and end date.
The meals are catalogued by pictures to make it easy to recognise and contain a breakdown of ingredients detected automatically using AI and full nutrition information.
Spotting Patterns
Visual food diaries make it easier to spot patterns affecting digestion, weight gain, sleeping late and more.
For example, a person may not know their stomach is sensitive to onions and that could be one of the reasons causing their digestion discomfort. Another one could be eating foods with added sugar at night impacting the quality of their sleep.
Nutrition Details
Every meal contains a picture of the meal, the ingredients, and the full nutrition label calculated automatically. The nutrition label contains information such as calories, nutrients, GI and more.
Nutrients covered include:
- Carbohydrates including total sugars and fiber
- Fat including saturated, monounsaturated, polyunsaturated, and trans
- Cholesterol
- Protein
- Glycemic Index
- Minerals: Sodium, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Potassium, Zinc, Phosphorus
- Vitamins: vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin K, vitamin E, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, vitamin B1(Thiamin), vitamin B2(Riboflavin), vitamin B3(Niacin)
